OCR Level 3 NVQ Certificate Management

Management NVQ (NQF)s are aimed at people in management roles across all occupations and sectors of employment. The Management level 3 qualification is broadly aimed at those who are responsible for the control of activities and work output of a team who have the ability and the opportunity to demonstrate recognisable management and leadership skills, for example, providing leadership, planning and implementing change, managing a budget, managing a project.

To achieve the full award, candidates must complete seven units, including four mandatory units and three optional units. Candidates choose the optional units which best suit their work situation and job role.

To achieve this qualification, candidates must achieve a total of 25 credits made up as follows: 

• 14 credits from Group A (mandatory) all of which are at Level 3

• 11 credits from the Group B (optional).

The following units will be covered in your programme:
The three mandatory units are as follows:
Unit 1 (A2) Manage own professional development within an organisation (Credit Value:4)
Unit 2 (B5) Set objectives and provide support for team members (5)
Unit 3 (D5) Plan, allocate and monitor work of a team (5)

And a choice of the following optional units to a credit value of 11:
Unit 4 (A3) Develop, maintain and review personal networks (Credit Value: 4)
Unit16 (D6) Plan, allocate and monitor work in own area of responsibility (5)
Unit 17 (D7) Support Learning and development within own area of responsibility (5)
Unit 19 (D9) Build, support and manage a team (4)
Unit 21 (D11) Lead and Manage Meetings (4)
Unit 22 (D12) Participate in Meetings (2)
Unit 32 (E11) Communicate information and knowledge (3)
Unit 35 (F1) Plan and manage a project (8)

Like all NVQ (NQF)s this qualification is competence based. This means that it is linked to the candidate's ability to competently perform a range of tasks connected with their work. Candidates plan a programme of development and assessment with their assessor and compile a portfolio of evidence to prove that they are competent and knowledgeable in their work role.
