OCR Level 6 NVQ Diploma in Career Guidance Theory (three units)

This cluster of units is taken from the Level 6 Diploma in Career Guidance and learners may progress to the full award.

The qualification is designed for practitioners within the guidance sector working with any client group.

Your Programme
The programme for the Career Guidance Theory ‘cluster’ consists of 3 training days covering 3
Level 6 mandatory units:
Day 1 – Unit 2 Reflecting on practice and continuous professional development
Day 2 – Unit 3 Career Guidance Theory
Day 3 – Unit 6 Use Career and Labour Market Information with clients
These three units, accredited by OCR, make up the Career Development Institute’s Certificate in Career Guidance Theory

Methods of Assessment:
* Observation (to be recorded and submitted for assessment)
* Written assignments
* Professional discussion

Target Group:
* Experienced practitioners with Level 4 NVQ in Advice and Guidance OR Level 4 Careers Information Advice and Guidance.
* Those wishing to extend their knowledge and foundation of IAG practice further into advanced practice.

The programme studied will offer candidates a chance to revisit and extend knowledge of theories and models of guidance along with a fantastic
opportunity to reflect on own practice whilst sharing good practice with others (a key aspect of continuous professional development).

The workshops will also include a valuable opportunity to focus on the use of career and labour market information in interviews with clients.
Subject to successful assessment candidates will gain accreditation towards the Level 6 Diploma qualification by
achieving the mandatory units 2, 3 and 6. 
Full Qualification:
Candidates may progress to the FULL Level 6 qualification (subject to time limitations).
